Spiced Shrimp & Rice

5 oz raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
5 green onions, sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 tsp fresh grated ginger
2 cardamom pods
2 whole cloves
1/2 stick cinnamon
1 cup hot water
1/3 cup cooked rice
1 green chili, sliced
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp chili powder
1 Tbsp chopped cilantro

1. Coat a medium saucepan with nonfat cooking spray; heat over medium-high flame.
2. Cook shrimp, turning once, until pink, approximately 5 minutes. Remove from saucepan and set aside.
3. Add onion, garlic, and ginger to saucepan. Cook, stirring, until onion is translucent.
4. Add cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon stick; cook for another minute.
5. Return shrimp to sauce pan. Next add water, rice, green chili, garam masala, and chili powder
